Remember Your Why
Technical work has a way of suffocating the fun parts (creative problem solving) under layers of mundane tasks and processes.
I’ve personally been feeling drained by constant debugging, Jira management, and a long backlog of documentation. Then, last week, I finally had some space to get back into a creative groove. I revisited some requirements for a feature that was on hold and went back to diagramming (my favorite!). After a few days of brainstorming and tinkering, I landed on a solution that feels both elegant and practical - minimal product impact while remaining aligned with what users asked for. I even mocked up a quick UI demo to show how the feature could live in the real world. I’m excited for the feedback!
As we head into the holiday season, motivation may start to fade and the workday can feel heavier than it should. It helps to return to the part of the job that naturally energizes you — the piece that reminds you why you chose this path in the first place. I’m hoping to carry that momentum through the end of the year.
